Alpha Ireland Conference – Saturday 2nd March 2024

Every day, the Alpha Ireland staff team speak to, and work with, leaders from all across Ireland and from all denominations. Many church leaders are reflecting on changes in parish life and activities since the pandemic. They tell them that they are looking for new ways to intentionally keep sustained and meaningful connections with the communities they serve.

The Alpha course, Alpha Youth and the Marriage and Parenting courses, continue to provide space for people to ask questions about their own faith, share it with others, and make a difference in their locality. In 2023, 6,500 people across the country took part on these courses with 3,700 of that number being under 18 years old.

This conference will bring together diocesan leaders, rectors, priests, parish teams and teachers to network and hear input on leadership, discipleship, prayer and reaching young people in the Irish Church.

Speakers include Fr Conor McDonough, Ruth Garvey-Williams, Fr Columba Jordan, Rev. Rob Jones, Roly and Susan Heaney and Dr Chloe Swart. They, along with the Alpha Ireland team, will share their experiences and outline new opportunities for mission, prayer, working with young people and reaching the wider community.

There will be a panel sharing the latest ways in which the Alpha Youth course can form part of the RE curriculum, be used within Confirmation preparation and how our team has been training young people to lead small discussion groups themselves.

Tickets are €40 (inc. a light breakfast & lunch) and can be bought HERE . The day runs from 9am to 4.30pm. Parking is free.
