Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim was packed to capacity with over 300 children and their teachers for the annual Diocesan Primary Schools Service. The theme was ‘Family’ and each school produced a poster to hang on our family tree at the start of the service. Rev. Philip Heak led the music with a lovely variety of songs which the children joined in enthusiastically. Pupils from different schools read the lessons and led prayers of confession, intercession and thanksgiving.
Rev. Eugene Griffin gave a very engaging address in which he spoke about how we are all part of God’s family as children of the one Heavenly Father. The service was led by the dean and ended with a blessing by Bishop Pat.
Afterwards the children had their packed lunch in the Diocesan Hall before returning home by bus. Many thanks to all who made this such a memorable act of worship.
