Some 283,000 people are expected to attend the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, from the 19th-21st September. The annual event showcases Irish food, farming and culture and once again the Church of Ireland will have a stand.

Hosted by the Diocese of Meath and Kildare, the stand is number 246 and can be found at Block 3, Row 10 and there is a warm invitation from members of the organising team to “come and see” them.

The National Ploughing Championships is the largest outdoor event in Europe with over 1,200 exhibitors, attracting almost 100,000 visitors a day. The Church of Ireland stand is designed to be a welcoming presence at the ploughing championships for all who want to take some time out from the demands of the day.

There is a quiet space for personal prayer and reflection, and clergy are also available to listen and pray with people. This is always a busy and creative area at the stand. While children play and make arts and crafts, their parents and grandparents can have a cup of tea and take some quiet time.

It wouldn’t be the National Ploughing Championships if there weren’t give-aways and to those of you who come seeking freebies you won’t be disappointed!

Drop in and say hello. We’d love to see you!”
