Thanks to our members from Meath and Kildare who represented us at the Church of Ireland General Synod 2016, which took place in The Royal Marine Hotel Dún Laoghaire, Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th May, 2016.
The Synod commenced in the conference centre at the Royal Marine Hotel at 12.00 noon on Thursday 12th, following the Synod Eucharist which took place in St Paul’s Church, Glenageary, at 10.00am. On the following days, the Synod began in the conference centre at 10.00am. Business finished at 6.30pm on Thursday and Friday and was scheduled to finish at 4.30pm on Saturday.
Each morning began with a short act of worship, which this year was led by the Rt Revd Kenneth Kearon, Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe. The preacher at the Synod Eucharist on Thursday 12th was the Rt Revd Patrick Rooke, Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achonry. The Archbishop of Armagh’s Presidential Address took place shortly after 12.00 noon on the first day, Thursday 12th.
