Monday 21 September saw the Ordination of Rev Trevor Holmes as a priest. The Service took place in All Saints Church, Mullingar. The ordination was conducted by Bishop Pat Storey, the Church of Ireland Bishop of Meath and Kildare. She also preached at the Service.
Along with parishioners from Mullingar Union of Parishes Trevor was joined by his wife Anne, their sons Elwin and Lyndon, close family, as well as many friends and colleagues from around the diocese.
Trevor works in communications for Dublin City University. A number of his colleagues from DCU also attended the ordination. He will serve as a non-stipendiary curate in the Mullingar Union of Parishes. Trevor will be in the Parish on three Sundays each month, as well as one evening per week. He trained at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute and previously served as a deacon-intern in Julianstown Parish.
A reception was held after the Service to welcome Trevor to his new area of ministry in the diocese of Meath and Kildare.
