Revd William Steacy appointed to Athlone Union of Parishes

Congratulations to Revd William Steacy, who has been appointed as new rector of Athlone Union of Parishes. His appointment was announced on Sunday 24th June.

William was born and brought up in Co Wicklow. He worked in farming before ordination. He has been rector of Kingscourt Union of Parishes (Meath and Kildare) since 2010. He is Bishop’s Appeal representative in the dioceses, playing a very active role in the recent Good for the Sole diocesan projects, which raised significant funds for leprosy survivors in India.

William is married to Roberta, who is originally from Lisbellaw in Co Fermanagh.

Bishop Pat Storey said: “We are delighted that William will continue his ministry within Meath and Kildare.  Please keep William and Roberta in your prayers as they prepare for their move to Athlone.”

William’s institution will take place on TUESDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2018 at 8pm in St Mary’s Church, Athlone.
